Diane King, a GATA Past President, has been appointed to the serve as a member on the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers for a term that will run through January 31, 2028.
King is a Registered, Licensed Dietician, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. Diane has worked in the field of sports medicine since 1988. She currently consults in several facilities as a sports dietitian and works part-time as an Athletic Trainer with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Sports Medicine Program as well as South Forsyth High School in Cumming GA. She works with the Georgia High School Association to develop nutrition education material and helps administer the high school Wrestling Minimum Weight Certification program. Diane serves on the Gatorade Sports Nutrition Speaker
Network as well as the NCAA Speakers Bureau.
Diane was one of the Athletic Trainers at the Aquatics Venue during the 1996 Olympic games and served as the Nutrition Consultant for the Atlanta Falcons NFL Football team from 1994 – 2007. She completed a certificate of training for Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management in September 2003. Diane received a Bachelor’s
degree in Dietetics from Memphis State University and A Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Human Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.
